Love it! I googled tips on wainescoting and it sent me to your blog :) I enjoyed reading through all your posts.
Maybe you can tell me what supplies you purchased to make this bench? I read in another post that you use MDF board? Being new to this I don't know much about it. How do you add the extra wood pieces on the front so that its not just one sheet of wood? Or does it come like that?
Hi - found this blog through houzz.com. Can you tell me how you did the beadboard over the tile in that kitchen makeover? This kitchen looks similar in feel to my own and I really need to find some budget-friendly ways to update it!
That vinyl siding on the front of the house is really nice! It looks almost like wood paneling, but much better because it wont have inconsistencies like wood does. I think that vinyl has really come a long way from where it was at 20 years ago. I think I am going to suggest something like this to my wife, we are planning on remodeling our home.

A standard oak staircase had the carpeting removed and painted in a classic colour scheme, as well a berber runner was added for softness , much less expensive than re-surfacing
Adding a good mix of pieces and casual fabrics creates a comfortable and not stuffy living room , the fussy off limits room is dead not to mention a waste of space.
"great design is not unattainable"
Painted stock cabinets with trim moulding creates an affordable custom kitchen , don't fear painting your old dated wood cabinets , can you add an island ? charming lighting?
This is a void behind the tub that I utilized to provide storage
Mudroom before
Mudroom after
Adding beadboard trim , hooks and shelving makes this mudroom very hard working , adding a chalkboard adds a fun and youthful sense of humor
